Thanks everyone! I'm currently just looking before I make my final decision. There's this one company Wilderness Cabins and they make GREAT tiny houses but they are on the pricey side. I found a cabin that they made that I liked on ebay for like $26,000, but then when I emailed them and told them I wanted that one, after adding on the 'extras' they ended up quoting me $56,000. I mean...I love their houses but that's a lot of money.:-/

Most homes are 8.5 ft wide.. for $15 I can get a oversize permit good for 4 days in AZ to move any tiny home 16 ft wide 120 ft long or smaller. Just build the size you want.. I also own a trucking company... just go to uship.com and hire a lisense and insured trucking company.

I have two builders in Ontario noted on my map, however one of them seems to have shut down their web sites. The other one is just south of Ottawa. I'd do some research on this business first - they don't show any pictures of actual THs that they've built. First and foremost - do your research to determine if your local zoning ordinances allow them. Some communities allow Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) - but these usually have to be on a foundation and have a minimum square footage required (on average around 400 sq ft). However, the vast majority of communities nation-wide do not allow them. Your best bet is to find a piece of property that has no, or very few, zoning restrictions. That is the biggest hurdle you have to first overcome before dedicating any time or money into building/purchasing a Tiny House. After that, I would recommend watching every TH video on youtube you can find. There's a lot of great info out there on how to design/build/live in a TH.

I agree with Michael Logue. Zoning laws are first! Then HOA if applicable. Any builder can build a TH...however, true TH builders are experienced w the tight spaces, unique storage areas, building codes, etc. Most states have TH Festivals annually. Ours in SC is 9/9 & 9/10 in Hilton Head. Research THs on Google, FB, Craigslist, etc. Ross Chapin has great floor plans you can buy. FYI...one story TH are out there but rare.

Very interested! I have been researching this for 2 years and went to the St.. Augustine Festival last year along with one other. I'm planning to attend the New Jersey Festival in June . Still a lot of questions but there were three I like there and one other one I came across. I met several builders that I think would be awesome if you need any referrals.
