I buy my planners at Target, and I recommend the Day Designer for Blue Sky Collection. I think it provides enough lines for writing in daily activities/tasks (it has separate event and to-do list columns for each day) but you'll have to see for yourself about that. They're $10 which is a plus for a college budget

I'm a freelancer, not a student, but I love Planner Pad. My schedule is a lot like a student's in that there are fixed activities every week plus evolving assignments. Great for mapping that all out plus room for weekend stuff, shopping lists etc. I think it was under $40 including domestic shipping.
