If you’re looking for the most touristy place, Mystic Pizza, if you want better pizza, go anywhere else. New London has downtown restaurants and bars you can go to, there’s also the casinos as well in Ledyard and Montville which is a short drive from both. Also if you like history stuff, you can go to the Pequot museum in Ledyard next to Foxwoods and the Groton Heights monument where there was a battle in the Revolutionary War there where Benedict Arnold won in a British Battle. There’s tunnels and stuff there too which is fun. Also there’s many scenic places to go to along the coast. My personal favorite is the drive down New London towards the sound. It’s really cool there at night.

In New Haven, its a pretty nice walk to go downtown by Yale and the shops. Theres a ton of good restaurants with a little bit for everyone down there. I'd also suggest the Peabody and the Art Gallery. If you like hiking, East Rock offers lovely views of the city. So does West Rock but there's no tower up there.

I have a child that is 2. We recently went to the Peabody museum in new haven and signed up for there membership. It cost $75 for the year and you allowed to get into other museums for free discover, lutz, Bruce and I think there are 2 more. Plus for the entire month of September you get into mystic aquarium free. We really liked Peabody it has dinosaurs, bugs, lots of fossilized creatures, it goes through cave men, Egyptian artifacts. It’s not a enormous place but you can get lost for 2 hours.

As someone that lives in New London, there’s really not much to do here, unless you wanna check out some neat architecture or local bands. Rocky Neck in Niantic has some gorgeous, easy to navigate trails & wildlife if you enjoy nature photography! Harkness also has beautiful coastline views. Devil’s Hopyard is further away, but also beautiful. Harder hiking trails, but there’s also some cute little picnic areas, a couple waterfalls, I love it there. Olde Mistick Village is lovely to walk through, (& free if youre just window shopping!) and the aquarium is right next door. It’s preeeetty expensive, but worth it IMO (its massive & they have a couple touch tanks which is just so fun) & Dunkin has $8 off admission coupons right now. Mystic Seaport is also absolutely stunning. You can really feel the history in the air there. Whatever you wind up doing, I hope you have a lovely time here!

Here's what to do - drive to Newport, visit The Breakers, formerly Gilded Age summer cottage of the Vanderbilts. The come back to Mystic, and have dinner at the Oyster Club, or The Engine Room.

I would skip New London and go to Newport R.I. or go to New London just to catch the ferry to Block Island.
