The furthest north restaurant in Goleta growing up was The Timbers @ Winchester Cyn. Who ate there?
Charlie S. replied:
Both my older brother and I had Ms. Carr in 6 grade. She said she was in that same classroom when she heard about the Kennedy thing. She was dressed thinly in a black skirt, at that main Montecito grocery store, when I saw her in 1998. I also saw her with her long time friends Mr. Chapman and McWilliams at O'Malley's around that same time. All 3 were teachers at Ellwood way back then.

I worked at the Timber's when it became Ruby Begonias in '73, Roger B. took it over thru Restaurant Etc. I grew up in Goleta since '63 in Winchester Homes on Calle Real across from the Gully & Church. Went to Ellwood Grade school 6 th grade, Mrs. Carr and Graduated '70 from DPHS, first class to go through the new school all 4 yrs. Even did half days at San Marcus HS until our school was finished. So many great memories

I had Ms. Carr too. She got married- and was widowed. Never found out her married name & lost track of her. She was the best teacher. Very classy lady!

Cheryl Vineyard, I have looked high & low, but I changed email carriers some time ago and her email address didn't transfer... I know her name is different and her Husband passed some years back. She lives in S.B. and I found her through Reunion.com If I do find it, I'll post it here and mention your name. So many of Sue's Students adore her to this day, I sure do

Rebecca H. replied:
Yea you might find that for a lot of Chinese food places. For my money I always enjoy Golden Gong in nipomo. I haven't enjoyed any chinese food in the five cities area.
