Books on cat health and behavior state that catnip is not known to be addictive or harmful. It's anon toxic herb to cats except in 'a large amount', (though marijuana is toxic to them, and should not be given in any form). Some cats appear to be 'high' from eating dry or fresh catnip leaves, though reportedly they don't need to eat it, only to smell its odor. If rubbed a bit in your fingers before offering, the plant's active oils will be released, and then be rubbed on your cat's scratching post or bedding to promote more interest. Before six months of age, a cat won't 'discover' catnip; about 30 % of them won't ever be interested. It's fun to watch your cat play after he eats catnip, though if you give your cat his 'fix' periodically, not every day, he won't get bored with it. Source(s): Books on cat behavior: S. Gerstenfeld: Cat Care Book; L. whitney: Complete Book of Cat Care and others; experience.

Gayle S. replied:
As Robin said, Hutzot HaMifratz has some good housewares stores. Bought high quality sheets and towels from Kitan Outlet and good deals at Naanman on cookware. Also, Golf across from Haifa Mall has great sale items. HomeCenter and large Supersol behind Matam are worth checking out as well. I've been here 6 weeks and been to all of these places:)

Since its not much stuff, maybe look into sharing a container. Try posting about a shared container in Keep Olim or other fb groups for Olim like Haifa Alliya as well. Check the backs of things that must be plugged in for compatibility with 220V. Even with a converter things not made for 220 v can overheat or short circuit or just break down quicker because they cant handle twice the volts. "Canada's electrical supply and electrical outlets (sockets, wall plugs) are the same as those found in the United States. The electrical supply is 120 Volts and 60 Hertz (cycles per second). "

Just as a quick explanation, being Olim themselves, Aliyah Lift will treat you like a real human making the biggest move of your life, with patience and lots of free advice if you ask. KEF and Sonigo will treat you like a number, when they even bother to return your calls. Perhaps not everyone's experience, but the vast majority of people that I have talked with.

I have used 1800 flowers.com, it's a US site that actually networks with local flower, plant and gift places all over the world and they will "ship" to Paris. Your order will get to where you need it to be! They have pretty good prices and often have discounts.

Definitely send your books on the lift. Any other method you pay by weight....and books are HEAVY. The lift is by space. And books can be packed in boxes that neatly fit together and don't use much actual space.
