Dr. Snapir on Tel Chai street but not big on internal medicine. Dr. Bar-Shai on Hanessi 56 is also very good. But I know Dr. Klein from Moriah, and while he IS overpriced, he is one of the best I know, so anything serious I go to him with. There's also Medivet on Einstein, but it depends on what vet you get there as there are several.

I would always recommend Medi-Vet, they're right by Horev, open 24/7, and the only animal hospital in the North. I've found their prices (that I've looked at, anyway) comparable to others, their facilities clean, and their staff helpful and pleasant. I specifically would not recommend Shay Ronen, though his name often comes up.

Thanks guys. Dr. Yadin Yeshurun at Medi-Vet was great with her! He whispered to her and treated her like a little princess--and she didn't bite or back away like usual. 170₪ + meds--not too bad. She'll be fine in a few days.

I waited until my female dog was 6 months and she was already in heat. It made the op much more difficult. The vet said that female dogs who have been strays should be spayed sooner, as they may go into heat earlier. I was lucky to have just got there in time. I've heard wonderful things about Shai Ronen. Not in mercaz hacarmel but I recommend the vets at Vet House on international (#3). I would call and ask for quotes - definitely mention they are strays. It is worth mentioning that spaying is a very invasive procedure (oovohysterectomy) and the cat will need to either stay at the vet or somewhere safe after the procedure. Their number is 04-822-2181
