I know some people who have had great experiences with the Firestone on Second and North by the Y. My experience there is limited to buying tires and some minor work to one of my front tie rods, which worked beautifully and wasn't terribly expensive. I was happy with the service, but I mostly go to my dealer because of my warranty.

I've had good results with Murphy's in Linglestown on 39. I now go to Midas in Carlisle on High. Like them even better.

Ray's Service Center Chevron, Ray Hudson 2901 Canby Street Harrisburg, PA 17103 My parents have gone there as long as I can remember. Ray came to my mother's funeral. I have been going there since I've been driving (18 years). - Cheap - Great work - Always done the same day I really do feel lucky to have a good, dependable, honest mechanic. I'd recommend him to anyone.

If you're willing to cross the river for about 20 minutes, I use RH Cooper and Son off of RT283 in Salunga. They're reasonable ($50 or $60/hr for labor if I remember right), honest, and one of the few shops around anymore I can bring my own parts in and they'll install. In fact, my car is there as I post this. In my experience, they are a bit stricter with inspection though, so keep that in mind.

I go to a little place on vine off front st. I don't remember what its called (jam automotive maybe) but the mechanics name is john. I used to live right there and I saw him fix someone's car for no charge when they were stuck in the city for some reason away from home on more than one occasion.

I always go to Hysers in Mechanicsburg. Always solid work and you can have peace of mind that you are not getting ripped off.
Any one know any mechanic that if I buy the part the can put it on..and ill just have to pay for labor.. some one is reasonably cheap lol...help!!!! =)
And the car has died again.
Clearly an issue with electrical shorts. Mechanic said he had repaired a wire but that much of the pigtail off the ECU was in bad shape....

We use Auto Workz off Robinson church. Mike is the owner. Has always done a good job for us.
Myleen S. replied:
We have used Mike at AutoWorkz too, but since my son in law works at My Honest Mechanic and Brandon Todd is a great guy with 3 precious girls to raise, we bring our cars to him. They are honest and will be fair with price and letting you know what needs to be done now and what can wait. They are right down Morehead on the right before Speedway and 29. Possibly turn right on Victory Lane? I don't usually look at the sign.
Laura B. replied:
My Honest Mechanic for us, too.
Ellen B. replied:
We used Mike at Auto Workz also. Did a great job for us. Very honest. We brought the car in for one thing after hours of investigation turned out to be something small. Very happy!!
