Thanks /u/Asterion7 . I'm a CFP, so I'm bound to a fiduciary standard for investments. As far as tax advice, I can refer you to the accountant I use, he owns his own practice out in Mechanicsville.

You want an fee-only RIA (registered investment advisory) firm with CPAs on staff. There are quite a few around Richmond but they usually have minimums. Be careful of big banks, broker-dealers/insurance companies that are behind the scenes for some planning firms. Happy to suggest a few, just let me know.
