Does anyone know an orthopedic doctor that sees children (older infants)? Or, at the very least, a pediatrician that will take my concerns seriously... mother's...
Jocelyn H. replied:
I've called Scottish Rite already frown emoticon I will call Dr.Harpavat tomorrow, thank you!
Amanda H. replied:
We have a pediatric ortho that we've seen and also referred several friends to. Dr. Roderick Capelo817-865-6950. There's another pedi ortho in this practice, Dr. Brown. They office in Grapevine and Frisco.
Jamie H. replied:
I also recommend Dr. Brown. We have a genetic bone disease (and we were seen by Scottish Rite) and we preferred Dr. Brown. We've since moved to Chicago and I haven't found a doctor as great as he is.
Summer P. replied:
My daughters both go to Dr. Harpavat. When my first one was born she had hip displacia. She got her into Scottish Rites almost immediately. The doctor has to have a relationship with them, she does!
Shannon S. replied:
Another recommendation for Dr Brown in grapevine
Christine A. replied:
I am not sure if I am correct but I think if you take him to Cooks or Children's ER they have to see him now! I had a friend with a child with a different disease. He tried for months to get him an apt at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. A friend of his that was a Dr told him to take him to their ER. He drove 8 hrs and did this and they had to immediately see him.
Shannon E. replied:
Dr. Brown monitored my daughter's scoliosis and my son's broken arm and foot! We love him!
Lisa C. replied:
Oh Dr. Harpavat!! She's fantastic! She was my pediatrician as a child (I'm 32 now!), and my family loved her
Monica M. replied:
A friend of mine just told me a story about how Dr Brown caught something in her son that everyone else missed. If it had not been caught the results would have been devastating. His femur bone was slipping out, which would eventually break, cutting blood supply off to the growth plate. No coming back from that. If I ever need a pediatric ortho he's the one I'm going to.
Stephanie A. replied:
Dr Brown caught a rare condition in my daughter's back that could've gone VERY wrong - but we were able to catch it in time. HIGHLY recommend.
Meghan M. replied:
Dr Brown is wonderful! He listened to me when other doctors wouldn't. He has an office in both Grapevine and Frisco. Both easy access from FM. He is an excellent surgeon and has wonderful bedside manner.
Amy L. replied:
We have seen both Dr. Capelo and Dr. Brown. Great results, nice staff.
Gina M. replied:
Dr. Dhoot and Dr. Harpavat.. Hands down! The best!
Kelly W. replied:
Dr. Harpervat was my pedi as a kid and is now my kids...shes great
Kelly D. replied:
Dr. Henry Ellis in Plano he is the best of the best. He is a pediactric orthopedic and is awesome.
Catherine P. replied:
I second Dr Ellis. I've worked with him and he's fabulous.
Leah C. replied:
Scottish Rite is the best. I would wait.
Catherine P. replied:
I do think that Scottish Rite is fabulous though. But a lot of the physicians go back and forth between Children's (not Cooks) and Scottish Rite so may be able to see Dr Rathjen at Children's Plano perhaps before you'd get in at Scottish Rite? Worth a try!
Debbie F. replied:
Scottish Rite is excellent but it took us about 2 months to get our daughter in to see them
Kavita G. replied:
Dr. Harparvat will get you the appointment too. She is awesome.
Pam Y. replied:
We were very happy with Children's Dallas Orthopedic dept. have you tried calling them up to see if they can get you in. Several of the doctors are from UT Southwestern and or have worked for Scottish Rite. When we called we got in the next day. 214-456-7697https://www.childrens.com/.../ortho.../meet-the-team/doctors
Kristen H. replied:
Dr. Brown in that practice is incredible. He took my "intuitions" seriously.
Katie L. replied:
We had an eval for my son at Scottish Rite and while I'm sure they are fabulous for many many kids they were not helpful for us at all. He needed orthotics and we ended up at Hangar Clinic after SR blew all of my concerns off and said he would grow out of them and stop once he had enough peer pressure. Um no! Children's has been our go to place for all of his specialists but their orthotics didn't take Cigna. Make sure you check first that where ever you go takes your insurance. --- Oh I also recommend Dr. Harpavat. She was the one that caught my son's cancer.
Shana T. replied:
We see David Brown too. He's wonderful and his staff is amazing. We've been to both offices. Love them!
Question for ladies who are past child-bearing time of life... who is your favorite local gynecologist excluding anyone practicing at Ob & Gyn across from Presby on...
Donna B. replied:
Randall Burt at Presby Plano.
Brenda J. replied:
Rebecca Crawford
Elizabeth H. replied:
Highly recommend Dr. McWherter at the Fem Centre! http://www.femcentre.com
Leigh T. replied:
Do not recommend Dr Amy Lungren
Kearston M. replied:
I love Dr. Lungren but you said no one across from presby. I had a high risk pregnancy and she took amazing care of me. Post partum was awful and we have collectively come up with ways to deal with my side effects from being pregnant
Shay M. replied:
Dr Paroski! In the bldg adjacent to the hospital
Suzanne S. replied:
Dr Tovar!! He is older and has a great bedside manner!! Makes you feel comfortable and is very knowledgable with women's issues.
Leslie M. replied:
Dr Stanley Frankin!
Carol C. replied:
Rebecca Collins has office in Flower Mound near the library as well as LV office. Have seen her for years. Did not care for Dr Franklin. But that was years ago. Dr Collins very easy to talk to and listens.
Diane W. replied:
If you don't have any special issues, your family doctor should be good for routine pap tests, etc. Elizabeth Pearch has been great for all my care.
Karen P. replied:
I love Rebecca Crawford. She has been my doctor since I gave birth to my first child almost 20 yrs ago. She is great. I have referred several friends to her and they love her also.
Traci M. replied:
Dr. Theodore Krum is there a few days a week. His staff is amazing. I'm not usually a fan of male doctors. He shares this office with other docs. So, expectant mothers may be there. However, he has a private office in Las Colinas. Does many procedures in office. Truly a great guy. Even my husband liked him. For annual check-ups I use a NP at Coppell Family Medical. Her name is Barbara Taylor. Very knowledgable and been in practice a long time. Never felt weird there.
Heather G. replied:
I'd go with Dr. Stanley Franklin! He delivered my twins and now practices past child bearing. My mom uses him too!
Erum A. replied:
Dr Mary Whitaker at Plano Presbyterian...gynecologist only, no obstetrics
Looking for new physician for our family in Lewisville area. Our current doctor is becoming Chief Medical Officer at Presby in Denton. Any suggestions?
Rita W. replied:
I think Tim Shepherd is the best
Angela K. replied:
Dr Davoodi, MD in Flower Mound. He is across from Lifetime Fitness.

Greg McCray in bartonville
Nancy L. replied:
Brian glazer. Flowermound. But it's Bridlewood Family Healthcare
Has anyone been treated or have had experience with neurosurgeons Dr. Juan C. Bartolomei from South Lake or Dr. Walter X. Loyola from Flower Mound? If so, can you let me...
