Child & Day Care in Hollywood, MD

Well, that's the thing. I keep getting misinformation. I was literally just told today that after age 3, they no longer qualify for in home/daycare speech therapy. This was told to me by the lady at Hollywood Elementary bc I was told to call there to get agency info for the speech therapist for the school/county

Ok. I just called her earlier and left a message.:). I did call Personalized Therapy. They said that for speech, they don't come to the school

That's what the lady at Hollywood told me but several people on here have said their child did qualify at age 4 and had the therapist come to their preschool or daycare. Tammy L Williams has a 4 year old in the program in her daycare and The therapist comes to her daycare. So I'm getting conflicting info.

Go to Child Find..my daughter was 4 and approved for speech therapy and the county sent a speech therapist to her preschool.

I was in the infant & tot program & changed to Personalized Therapy. It is night & day different. They only do speech in 30 min sessions. I tried for them to be longer but that is all they told me insurance would pay. My son doesn't stutter he just doesn't talk at age 3. I take him twice a week & have also started a second program to help. Talk with they bc they might be able to alter his sessions if you want to add more.

I'd check Speakwell solutions in leonardtown. I know some of there therapists have gone to homes in the past. I work for infants and toddlers and the laws are confusing and ever changing so unfortunately right now, you'd need to have an IFSP before your third birthday for the out of school therapy to continue past 3. Sometimes child find will go to the preschool, sometimes not. I haven't even figured that one out. Which Montessori daycare does your child go to?

I'm a home daycare provider and I had Speech therapists coming here for daycare kids over two and then they also went to his preschool when he was older. They followed them till they got into K where they resumed (as. Needed) therapy

Personalized therapy comes to my daughter's school for children's therapy. Have you asked them about it?

There is a home daycare off Carrico Mill Rd that we used and really liked. I went to school with her kids. Her name is Joyce Hooton. She is certified and really good with "her kids!" Let me know if you want the number.
