Looking for a good hand specialist/surgeon in the area. My Dad has a large lump on the palm of his hand causing pain and needs it removed. ???

My Husband had to have hand surgery after a work accident. A Hand specialist at Porneuf Hospital in Pocatello did it. When he gets home, I'll ask what his name was.

My husband has had 4 surgeries, all b4 we moved to Idaho. However, when we moved here he had to see several specialists because we thought he was going to require another one, so I thought I'd share our experiences for your consideration. 1-We REALLY liked Nathan Richardson, (although he didn't end up having the surgery after all), he was fantastic! Very personable and extremely down to earth, easy going. 2- Our experience with Dr. John Andary was not very good. He made us feel like we weren't good enough to be his customers and he was not very personable at all. He gave good facts & info, we just didn't care for his manner (or his huge ego) at all. 3- I helped a lady through two total knee replacements and a broken femur in between those. She used Dr. Greg West. He has a great bedside manner, but is also very straight forward. No pussy-footing, he gives it to ya straight. He's very busy, but he will take the time you need, answer all your questions and show you on handheld models. He also has a GREAT staff, from the front office all the way back. Good luck!!

Dr. Aaron Altenburg in Pocatello; fixes what many mess up! I had hips done and interviewed 6 local PT's prior to visiting a doctor . . . he was recommended by all 6 - not one doctor in IF. Had a well-known friend, in the medical field who thought I was crazy and let me know there were many good ortho's here; guess who he had do his knee replacement 9 months later - yep, Dr. Altenburg!
