Hm... Chrome and Office are both memory hogs, could be a memory issue, though again that will almost always result in blue screen.

Ah, a laptop, eh? That's a different story then. I wouldn't imagine it is the hard drive, as that will almost always result in a blue screen. Fan is possible, might be over heating, You might try using Real Temp to track how hot it's getting: http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

Nope, but if you ever find yourself in Lisbon then PC Clinic will do a good job... just take a lot longer than they imply when you talk to them.

I have to agree with originalluff. Upgrades are really just plug and play anymore. Post what components you want to upgrade and the reason and we can help you get what you need. The one that needs reimaged might be a little more difficult if you don't have an os disk, but most everyone knows a guy or gal in IT that does things in the side.
