Recommendations for Certified Financial Planner? Hi Indy. Wondered if anyone had recommendations on a good, trustworthy and local financial planner? Need to start...
MrMaurzog replied:
DO NOT go to your girlfriends friends brother who works at Edward Jones, they have no fiduciary duty to only sell you securities that are favorable to you, they get paid commissions by funds to hawk their products. Also don't listen your sisters college roomates boyfriend when he tells you that life insurance is a good investment strategy and you will get a gauranteed XX% payout and he can hook you up. You need to look for a fee-only or fiduciary financial advisor they will charge a percentage based on how much you invest with them should be less than 2%. Also /r/personalfinance sidebar
