Hi! I'm new to the group and new to owning a dog of my own (CoCo), and new to Barrie. Was hoping some of you experienced pet owners can recommend an exceptional vet in...
Kim M. replied:
I live in Barrie, but the very best vet around is in Alcona. Alcona Animal Hospital. Reasonable prices and they love love animals. they don't push unnecessary treatments and meds if they think your pet doesn't need them. Have been going to Dr. Neilan since the 90's.

I love my vet in Alcona and it's just south of Barrie, if you're willing to travel a bit. Alcona Animal Hospital. Worth it but there may be wonderful vets in Barrie too; I just don't know them. Marcia Murray is the Dog Nanny and she's an exceptional trainer, again in Innisfil but worth it. Zoe Shanoff is in Barrie and has a great trainer at her facility as well.

When we got our first rescue we were using the vets in Alcona by the train tracks, she was pretty ill and they never really figured it out. We use Big Bay Animal Hospital now, haven't had any issues and the staff are great.
