Caledonian Canal at Corpach. Also Nevis Range Mountain Gondola. Both near Fort William

north from Fort William the Commando Monument at Spean Bridge is a must. Loch Ness has Urquhart Castle. In the Ullapool area, Ullapool itself of course, nearby is Leckmelm Gardens also Corrieshalloch Gorge, further south and west is Inverewe Gardens, Poolewe and Gairloch, north of Ullapool, Ardvreck Castle, Lochinver and a fair drive north is Durness with its splendid beach and Smoo Cave. A trip out of Ullapool on the Summer Queen cruise boat to the Summer Isles is a nice trip (2 or 4 hour cruises available, possibility of seeing dolphins, whales, basking sharks, seals, seabirds and sea eagles). In Ullapool try The Old Surgery Guesthouse for B&B, front rooms overlook Loch Broom and the Summer Isles. Mind you there are SO many places to choose you could spend weeks in the area and still not cover everything. Happy travelling!
