Hi can any one advise me of the best place to stay and hopefully see the Northern lights ... also wher would be the nearest railway station ..... thank you all xx
Caithness G. replied:
Hello Myra, thank you for your enquiry. The railway line runs right up to the North Highlands, terminating in either Wick or Thurso. The Castletown Heritage Centre is a dark sky discovery centre, see:http://www.castletownheritage.co.uk/centre.htm
Can anyone recommend any coffee shops/restaurants in Inverness that are child friendly? Thanks
Claire W. replied:
Another place to try is Velocity Cafe which is up a steep hill called crown avenue. Anyway it's great - one day they had 5 different gluten free cakes! There are quite a few places outside of Inverness too if you want a list!

I absolutely promise you to take this recommendation: My husband and I are total foodies and we LOVE The Anderson Inn in Fortrose. Its really not too far and the food is devine and the desserts are even better. Portions are big and is, I believe our favourite restaurant in the area. The best 2 desserts that i have had are the black and white brownie sundae, (With a chocolate brownie AND a blondie brownie with homemade ice-cream. There is also warm apple cake that will melt in your mouth!! You won't be disappointed!
