The Dallas area has a company called Firehouse Movers. All the movers are firemen. I dunno if that exists out that way, but if it does, I HIGHLY recommend them!

I can tell you to NOT use Costa Mesa Moving Co. I asked for recommendations and was told to use them, and it was a horrible, terrible, mistake. They dropped my fridge, busted my furniture, and put my sleepnumber bed together backwards (so now left is right and right is left). And took *forever* Sorry I can't give a recommendation. Just giving you warning of who not to use. Good luck in your move! Go to any moving truck place and you'll likely see a plethora of day laborers if you want to go that route.

My mom has some friends in Coto who seem to redecorate at every opportunity with some heavy-ass furniture and use some guys pretty regularly, for good reason. I used them for my move into a 1BR, then again into my 2BR apt, leaving all the heavy stuff to them like a ~1,000 lb. marble wetbar, coffee table carved out of a big tree trunk, sleigh bed, giant couch, etc. Despite having to go up and down some tight turns and very steep stairs, nothing was scraped; all I had to do was point for what goes where. I didn't have to worry at all, which is kind of rare in moving situations. Best $260 and $200 I've ever spent, respectively. His name is Beny - (949)350-0098

I used Right Movers a few months ago - They are located in Tustin. I had a great overall experience. They gave me a good price compared to quotes from other companies and the guys were professional and fast.

Hi, not sure about Home Depot in Irvine, but the locations in Santa Ana have day laborers waiting to pick up work at any given time. There is one on MacArthur and Harbor, and another one on Edinger off the 55 freeway.
