Less than a mile from where you are now is https://www.facebook.com/131543132792 Capistrano Veterinary Clinic Dr.Park and Dr. Han are wonderful, and they're open at 8 am. It's across from the mission, next to liquor store on Camino cap. Prices are reasonable, and they're outstanding vets.

*UPDATE* Mocha is home, stable and resting. We took him to Dr Diehl (after a sadly horrible run to a first facility) and he was given antibiotics and pain medication, and we will return in the am. We are beyond fortunate, I realize. Please keep your babies close to you.

Hello all, I dont know if anyone can help me but my poor baby had just been diagnosed with IVD and is going to need back...
Jennifer Y. replied:
Chanel, I’m so sorry your baby got diognosed with IVDD. If you are set to do surgery, I highly recommend going to Animal Specialty & Emergency Center on Sepulevada in Los Angeles. They are highly familiar with this disease and surgery requirements. Not every vet knows what they are doing for this speciality disease. ASEC is the best, pricey, but absolutely the best care for your baby. Time is of the essence. . .go now!! 310) 473-5906http://www.asecvets.com Additionally, check out Dodgerslist.com. This is a support group for dogs with IVDD. They will support you, answer questions, and have so much helpful information on their website. Good luck and keep us posted. (

Hey everyone - which local vet would you recommend for OFA X-rays on hips and elbows?
Jacqui H. replied:
Tri lakes....Dr. Linda Kaplan for OFA.......or......same clinic....Dr. Elliot Kaplan for PenHip
Ruger R. replied:
Tri Lake animal hospital, Dr. Elliot Kaplan with out question. I highly recommend him.
Jacqui H. replied:
Dr. Elliot Kaplan at Tri Lakes Vet is certified for PennHip.....and very knowledgeable
Debbie W. replied:
Okanagan Vet all the way! I have been to other vets over the years and have to say they are professional, caring and will not sedate if they don't need to. Both Alaskan malamutes and cane corso of mine have all gone through OK vet.
Arnica R. replied:
Both Eliot and JAson are certified:-)
Jordan P. replied:
I go to Dr Moira at Pawsitive for my OFAs. She is not a radiologist but does a fantastic job and the price is incredibly reasonable.
Sherri D. replied:
Betty and the crew at OK Vet do a great job, highly recommend them:)
Arnica R. replied:
At Pandosy Village Veterinary Hospital they do PennHip evaluations, which include OFA but also two different Xray views. The advantage is that the results are numerical, and you get the comparative results of your dog vs. hundreds or thousands of the same breed. It can also be done as early as four months, with clinical certainty. It's also not subjective, but objective, so it's not the call of the radiologist, but rather a measured score of hip dysplasia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5 cl2_nwYLs

Oh how my heart is broken, i know sometimes the owners have no choice to give there babies up, but when you have a baby if you take care of them the way they need to be taking care of, yes it is does cost a fortune, wish people could understand this, we have a pom that we got when she was a baby, she is now 12 years & has CHF, trust me her meds cost a small fortune, but if i had to pick up cans, you better know i would, but we can feel good knowing she is our top priority & when we found out about her heart, we know we are doing the best we can to help her, but it breaks my heart, so sorry baby boy, GOD now has you in HIS arms, safe & never to be hurt or in pain anymore, thanks to the staff at Southern California Pomeranian Rescue for at least giving him a chance, you all are the best..RIP baby <3 <3 <3
