Have mike pull the hard drive out, and you can just plug it into a different computer with a USB cable. Should be a piece of cake to get anything you need off the drive -I'm assuming that the drive is a SATA drive. If it's really old, it may be an IDE (i think??) interface, but you should be able to get an adapter for that, too. If not, you should at least be able to find someone local for less than the $100 Best Buy wants.
