I've lived in both of those cities! Have fun! I miss them so much. As for Charleston, they have a ton of equestrian centers. Some of the nicer ones are in John's Island(Mullet Hall), Middleton Place Equestrian Center is absolutely beautiful, and placed right smack dab in part of a historic district. I'm not as well versed on the riding stables directly in Savannah, but I do believe RedGate Ranch is one. Might be Red Gate farm.

Big Valley Ranch in Avoca is just a w miles from Endless Valley. They have miles of trails, pens for horses, electric hook ups and lodging to rent. Really nice place and great trails.
