I need recommendations for a great pediatrician. Ours is kind of terrible and we need to switch.
Alicia S. replied:
Obviously a doctor that is caring and attentive. One that can actually see my child if he's sick (our current pedi can't get him in EVER.) And one that is supportive of things like Co-sleeping, Bfing, Cloth Diapering, baby wearing, or one that just doesn't care! Our current pedi makes negative comments about our cloth diapers all the time. If I can't find a doctor that supports it, then I'd rather have one that stayed out of my parenting decisions and focused on my child's health. I'd also like a doctor that is respectful. I dont want to be talked down to when I'm in the office, and I dont want this doctor to assume I haven't done my research. Thats another major pet peeve about the current pedi. (Ok so that was kind of a rant! haha)
Meg W. replied:
We also see Dr Feld and he has been supportive of our choices. He has commented on how the cloth diapers are great. I am curious how our one year visit will go, because I don't know how he feels about bfing past a year.

Dr Jim in White Pine is a drive but well worth it! http://www.askdrjim.com/

Alicia Sharp if you are not sure about the circumcision, read this: http://www.drmomma.org/2010/04/hypospadias-surgery-and-circumcision.html
Pamela N. replied:
Dr Feld also gets my vote, he was in the delivery room when Chesney was born for hours waiting on her to be born bc so many thing were going wrong, he kept her right beside my bed while he worked on her n I've taken her and my son to him for the past 11 years! His wife needs to be left at home but he is a wonderful doctor and does take the time to listen and discuss any concerns I've had w my kids. <3 him and his staff!!
Pamela N. replied:
But pls don't judge Dr Feld from her behavior, he is totally awesome !!
Casie V. replied:
Mary, have you used Dr. Jim? White Pine is very close for me! What do you like about him or have heard good about him?
Shannon S. replied:
Dr Jim wouldn't see me. He said he was trying to keep new patients local but he acted like I was drug seeking. It was really sad because I have heard so much wonderful stuff about him.
Garner N. replied:
We go to Dr. Amy Forsee (family dr) with UT family physicians on Northshore. She has been supportive of everything so far.
Jennifer G. replied:
Drs Black and Benton in Knoxville absolutely wonderful!
Kara L. replied:
Beware of KPA. They injuried my older DS when he was 6 months old. They do no tknow how to care for an intact boy. We use Dr. Phillips at Black & Benton now.
We use Knoxville Pediatric Associates by Children's hospital, love that group!!

Lesa M. replied:
Both of my kids go to Dr. Harsh at Pediatric Clinic. He is wonderful. They have an office at Children's and then they have one in Seymour. I have always taken them to the Seymour office. It's closer and they are all so nice.
