Anyone got a day care recommendation (or warning) for Jersey City? Our daughter is 18 months and we need to place her soon.
Ferryer replied:
I would stay away from the Early Learning Academy by Marin Boulevard. There are many depending on what part of Jersey City you live. I know some good nannies if you decide to go that route.

My sister-in-law and two separate friends have sent their children here and have all had good things to say: [Viaquenti](http://www.viaquenti.com/index.html) on Newark Ave.
wakasm replied:
Pro-tip. Stay away from any of the places that use spray paint for a sign. (You think I jest!, outside of downtown, Surprisingly. All around JC, there are a lot of these places. )
slymm replied:
I'm only basing this on by occasionally walking by and being impressed by the attention the kids are getting, so do some reasearch, but http://www.theriverschool.com/ looks legit
thejerseycitylife replied:
It really depends on where you are looking in Jersey City. From a downtown perspective, River School, Learning Ladders and Bright Horizons (new) are the most recognized. I am unfamiliar with Viaquenti. River School has a notorious "waiting list" and will likely take a year plus to get in.

Hello all ! We will move to Chicago in July, I am finding day care for my baby (1yr) in Naperville, anyone has experience with Bright Start Child Care ? or someone can...

HI Beryl, did anyone respond to you yet? I am afraid most of our demographic is young professional that lives in the city and not married. But I will keep my ears open. you should also check out yelp.com which will have all sorts of user reviews.
Jim C. replied:
Most child care in Naperville are good. Kids Kampus is around the same price as Bright Start, and I know someone that has their two kids there. I did not tour Bright Start, so I can't comment at this point. Bright Horizon is good, but mostly indoor play. Their outdoor play ground is located by the highway not close to the room they are in. Creme de la creme is most expensive, beautiful facility, got a water park inside. The Compass School is pretty good, enrollment is fairly full, teachers seemed good. This would have been our first choice if it wasn't too south of us. The only downside is their playground is old and by a busy street. Chesterbrook is a chain and it has a good system, focus on learning. The downside we didn't like is that it's by a cemetary. We end up picking the Children's academy because of price and the teachers seemed friendly. The location is good with good playgrounds. I hope this helps!

Hi moms, can anybody recommend a good day care or reliable nanny in the journal sq area?
Vikki B. replied:
Our daughter goes to st Elizabeth and it's great. They just did registration for August or September start dates, so they may already be a waitlist, but it sometimes doesn't take long to get off their waitlist. Another neighbor uses Academy House behind the building at the northeast corner of JFK & Newark
