What's the best place in Israel to find a wedding dress? I was going to wait to get one in America but it appears most places need six months to tailor/design a dress....

There's an AMAZING rental place in Hashmoniam that has literally about 700 very new stylish dresses, or they can make you one from scratch. The head dressmaker is phenominal. I've sent a few girls there and they have been so thankful and passed it onto others. Go there FIRST! It's about 1500 to hire (mine was only worn once before) and it includes tailoring it to how you like it, adding on bits, removing etc. I think brand new from them is about 1700. Call for appointment, it's SO worth it. 054 444 5194.

I would have Elsa Puiyin make you something custom made-it will be CHEAPER than renting and one of a kind. Her number is 0542503796 and she is extraordinary. If you are a size 8 I have a dress she made me and it is silk_HATE HATE HATE anything synthetic and that is what you are going to find in most of the shops here

Does anyone know of an affordable seamstress in central Jerusalem area who can alter my wedding dress? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

After seeing dozens of awful tailors, I found THE BEST seamstress/dressmaker. She did a ton of good work on my dress for very little money. Her name is Aliza, and she used to be a costume designer for a huge theater in Russia, before frumming out and moving here. She has a magical little studio in the middle of a super sketchy parking lot, in davidka. I, as a dressmaker myself, recommend her highly. Her number is 054-444-1252. Tell her I sent you.

I went to the store on Agripas which was lovely but crazy crazy expensive for what I wanted to do.... I ended up buying a singer machine on Amazon.co.uk for a fraction of the cost... however, it took almost a month to clear customs, but it did come & I was thrilled... It runs on 220V and I just needed to get a british outlet adapter.. good luck!

I got mine from the Singer shop on haneviim corner of Strauss (I didn't buy a Singer).
