Rosalinda V. replied:
Yes. Woodwards Garage..on Alcott. Tell them you are my Niece..so they treat you right. They work on Volvos.
Rosalinda V. replied:
Not saying it is "wrong". I just had bad experiences where I was Ripped Off and don't trust Auto Analyst anymore.
Genevra B. replied:
I do European Import on Kilgore
Rosalinda V. replied:
Genevra Bussing, I used to go to European Imports on Kilgore, untill the mechanics there told me I was getting overcharged! They dislike the owner and the quality of customer service has declined in the last 2 years.
Rosalinda V. replied:
Jennifer Conde-long, I am sorry..but I Dislike and Dis-Trust Auto Analyst on Stadium. They ripped me off for $400. on work NOT needed on my dad's truck..they are not to be trusted. Woodwards will RE- DO ANY work you are not satisfied with for: FREE! His Name is On it..he is a proud man..Mr. Penny works on THE Gilmores' cars! He is grumpy..but if you show respect..he will do the same.
Rosalinda V. replied:
Brrasie Walmer..I used to use Spring Valley..but it is incovenient location work is OK, but I have had some so-so work..overpriced they would not re-do. Woodwards offers: FREE Shuttle to and from your house while work is being done! NICE!:-)
Well CRAP...My old car may be in need of a mechanic soon. It's not an immediate need but I want to find out from the Kzoo peoples if there's a reputable mechanic around...
Christine W. replied:
Kate MacKenzie just used a place up on Stadium that she is happy with. I have a couple I like in Portage, but that makes for difficult drop of and pick ups from your side of town.
Kate M. replied:
Auto Analysts on Stadium. Didnt seem to over charge, did mention other things that need to be fixed but didn't strong arm to try to make me do them. Mechanic called me after I had my car to mention that my car may smell " hot" when I got out of it for the next few days as the new breaks broke in since he was not at the desk when picked up the car.

Depending on what you have to have done, I really like Woodward Garage on Alcott Street. I've had car body work done at a place on Burdick, but I really appreciate Woodward's for good service and equally courteous treatment whether I take in my car, or Thaddeus does.
I'm looking for a good diesel mechanic.
We have a small hydraulic leak we want to fix before we drive 4,000 miles in the next 4 months. We are in Michigan. Leaving here...

Does anyone know of a good mechanic I can take my car to in Jackson? Someone that won't try to screw me over.
Betsy W. replied:
My dad's friend use to own Master Radiator on Ganson. They were really nice there. You could try them.
Amanda P. replied:
Mark at Greenwood Auto is really good! Honest and cheap!
Amy T. replied:
K&J Tire is always honest and professional. If you have an import then Kelly Imports. Another very honest and professional business. Your grandmother knows the owners of both places.
Does anyone remember "Buzzy Lewis" ? A great mechanic................
Michael M. replied:
It was Buzzy Gioia and his sisters name was Letrice. They lived right next door to me on 222 Mt. Vernon Rd back in the 50's and 60's. Letrice used to baby sit for me and I'm "61" now. Buzzy did primarily body work, and was a decent mechanic as well. Letrice married Buddy Porter of the Southington PD. My brother Lou Maruzo, who's "68" now used to race cars that he and Buzzy worked on. They used to race in I84 before it was completed. They used "walkie-talkies" to alert each other and the other racers when the coast was clear from police. I'm sure Gordon Swain was in the mix of things back than too, but I really didn't get to know him until about 20 years ago as his was a little too old for me to remember back than, but I know he loved his "fast" muscle cars. Now I'm still crusin' with my '68 GTO, but the cars they raced would have buried my GOAT!

It was Buzzy Gioia and your brother is Gordon Swain
Diane O. replied:
He did mostly auto body - even worked on race cars and funny cars. In fact he worked on a car for Paul Newman once too.
OK- Long shot- anyone know a good/reasonable mechanic in Kankakee, IL...or a towing company that could inexpensively transport a car from there back to Grand Rapids, MI?
