Take it or leave this advice as someone from the claims side for over a decade. Don't ever, ever go with a small unknown company to save a few bucks. You want a reputable, long term company with a big legal department and who won't go under in a disaster. Oh the stories I could tell. I worked Storm Duty teams for many storms...pay a bit extra and stay with one of the bigger reputable companies, please. I am not a fan of the broker route.
