Thoughts/questions: * Maui is a great island to get married on. You said you did research. Do you mind sharing? Getting an idea of what you're thinking (why south Maui, what time of day do you want to get married, what restaurants are you scoping out, etc) will help others provide feedback * You can find a reasonably priced officiant. * Why south Maui? Is it because you want a sunset wedding? * What you thought about a day time wedding with pictures done at sunset before dinner?

Early morning or sunset for the win. Do not get married at 1 pm like we did. Dumb dumb dumb. Beach weddings rock and are legit on Maui. A circle or heart of tropical flowers and greens, barefoot, comfortable clothes, and an officiant. Less is more. Maui will take care of the rest. The waves are your music, the wind your air-conditioning. Bless your wife in the surf with a kiss and a plunge. Total cost less than 2000 all in.

My wife and I did a wedding including a photographer and flowers for just over $500. Get flowers at Safeway (they are amazing). We used Making Maui Memories for the photographer (she was really good) and here is the person that performed the cerremony: https://www.alapaki.net/ This was a while ago, so prices might be higher, but we were super happy. We did the ceremony in the morning & had lunch at the golf course (not included in the $500), which was also amazing. Best decision was to do it in the morning, and at the beginning of our trip - we didn't spend the whole time getting ready for the wedding & "got it over with" and the rest of the 10 days was pure relaxation.

Drink beer. Eat at Foodland's "deli". Sleep on the beach (act like you're fishing). Rent scooters instead of a car. Swim a lot. Screw where you can. ta - da !

First. And I grow tired of saying this. NOTHING IS CHEAP ON MAUI!! On top of that, and you should know by now, anything to do with weddings (flowers, food, music, decor, venue, etc.) is about 4X the price of anything that is not a wedding. For example. You need a DJ. He will gig for $1000. Tell him it’s for a wedding, he’ll make that price $4000. Good luck and congratulations though.

My wife and I were married on Maui 5 years ago. We had about 20 people. Compared to a traditional wedding it was cheap. We loved the experience. We did hire an on\-island coordinator for a very modest fee who helped a ton with recommendations and organized a few details that we couldn't do remotely. My only suggestion is to try to keep your group together over the course of the wedding week. Our guests, and ourselves, were scattered all over so we only saw them all together at our welcome breakfast and the wedding itself. We wanted to give everyone their freedom.

I got married in South Kihei on the beach recently. We went through simple maui wedding and they were great to work with. Amazing photos. We had less than 20 guests. Though I don't know if I would recommend the beaches unless you are ok with there being multiple other brides there at the same time. I was married on weekday and there were still 3 other brides. I knew what I was getting into and we saved a ton of money having it on the beach vs at a venue, but food for thought! Also it was windy! very windy! For dinner I definitely recommend Ami Ami bar and grill we spent 800 on food and drinks for the all of us and had a private garden patio with hanging lights and the food was amazing!

Got married in Maui two years ago. We went through A Dream Wedding Maui and it was great, I can’t recommend them enough! Very communicative, friendly, and they are great about making sure you get what you want while catering to all budget sizes.

I've had the privilege to run the food for several weddings on Maui from 2\-50 guests. As a private chef I appreciate it most when a tightly budgeted client makes this known. It allows me to better fit their needs with what is possible. Knowing ahead can save time and get you the best of what you need. Maui IS expensive and not just for visitors, there is no store we can buy things cheaper at because we live here. Understanding a guests priorities make it so much easier to be successful part of their event and meet everyone's needs and expectations.

I think Mike Lynn's became the Willows. The Polka Dot was in the Village at the bottom of Santa Maria Road, in the same group of stores as Allen's Toys & Hobbies.

Pasta Cuisine in the late 90's when Chef Maurice was doing brunches. What an absolute master; I will never forget his Pancakes Oscar, Blintzes, Eggs Benedict, omlettes, the list goes on and on and on and on..... $14.02 and worth twice that.

Went to Table 24 last weekend for drinks after seeing The Help at Orinda Theater. Didn't have anything to eat, but drinks by the outdoor firepit was nice!

Monkeypod was really good. If your wife is vegan, hit up a bunch of the farmer's markets and fruit stands and feast on fresh, local and amazing fruit.

ESKIMO CANDY! Best Poke Bowl my wife and I have ever had. Not a vegan option, but give it a go if you can. Kihei Caffe is great too and may have options for your wife.

Both worth it. Do not and I repeat do not use calypso tours for the crater When we snorkeled turtle town, they left us in the water and kept moving the boat with out throwing floatation devices There was a lot of terrified people

We enjoy happy hour at Three's - same side of the street, past Kihei Cafe in the mall/market. Great appys and drinks for a very reasonable price. Best Loco Moco breakfast we have ever found too if you like that (we do!). Have fun!

Have dinner in Wailea and then drive upcountry to Hali'imaile General Store for Pineapple upside down cake and a glass of Lindeman port.
