You need a good professional exam, probably MRI or at least a CAT scan of your back, and an evaluation from a quality Orthopedic Specialist. I don't live in your area so I can't recommend anyone there. But from the area you say you live in I will bet there are many top professional Orthopedic MDs. Find out who the NY Islanders use, thats a start. But don't hesitate, things like that don't get better by themselves.
