Who are your favorite people to get service from in Knoxville? These can be people ranging from barbers to grocery store workers to lawn care? Are there any individuals...

Okay, hookers was my first thought, but I will be serious. For tune-ups, oil changes, and the like, I really like Affordable Car Care in Powell. Mom and pop shop and if they don't do it, like a transmission overhaul, trust their recommendation for someone who does. I'm cheap and so I go to Douglas J Aveda on Gay Street for my haircuts. $16 a pop, no tipping allowed, and the students there are really great. I have never come away thinking they did a bad job. If you're starting a business and need a business banking account, go to Knoxville TVA Credit Union. No minimum balance - other banks want you to start with a deposit of anywhere from $2500 to $5000. Plus the folks at my branch are always friendly and quick to serve. For tattoos, Born This Way Body Arts. Second choice would be Vivid Tattoos. I will be at the latter next Saturday to watch my daughter get her first tattoo. My buddy, John, is an all-around handyman and builder. I am having him come out this week to look at replacing a window wth a bigger window. PM me if you think you need his services. I'd give more details but I am not sure if he wants to be advertised on Reddit. I follow KARM Stores on Instagram because sometimes I see some great stuff, like the antique chaise I picked up for $70 that I use for photo shoots. And since it's a sorry dog that don't wag its own tail, [my business](http://www.stephaniericherphoto.com/). More [current stuff on Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/sarphoto61/?hl=en).

West Side Auto off of Papermill. Sal is the most reasonable mechanic in Knoxville and won't try to fuck you over for a few extra bucks. I'll never take my car anywhere else.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned this group but I bring my animals to Butler Animal Clinic in Karns. I found them caring, competent, and well priced. In addition to medical needs, I also use them to bathe my two big dogs. Speaking of animal grooming, I let the vet do mine since they're short-haired dogs not needing anything special, but I used to use Paws and Claws when my Schnauzer was still alive and they did a nice job of making him look clean and trimmed. Paws and Claws is on Cunnigham between Powell and Halls.

Another great service provider: if you need someone to talk to for therapeutic reasons, especially if the person needing some counseling is a teenager, make an appointment with Amanda Burns, LPC-MHSP. Her number is 865-437-7232.

I offer in-home dog training lessons. My main goal is always to bring the trainer out in you. I believe when my clients understand how training and the dog mind work, there isn't a problem too big or goal too high. www.mycuriouscanine.com

Hair and makeup for special occasions: [Tatyana](http://wilcoxmakeupartist.com/). She is worth the trip to Maryville if you are looking for someone who will make you look great for your wedding, prom, etc. I did a senior shoot where I used her for the first time. The client's first remarks to me was that she not only loved her work, but went ahead and booked her for her daughter's prom.

Had an old school barber cut PLUS straight razor shave at Louisville Barber Shop recently. Really friendly dude, knew his stuff and comfortable atmosphere. The shave takes a while and my face was maybe a bit too sensitive for it but I'd recommend it at least once.

The only good place I have found for a decent price and great result is lox salon in old city. Boyfriend loved it, they do a great job listening to what you want and are typically younger so they cut modern styles very well.

Nate at Nate's Gentleman About Town. You will not find a better barber in Knoxville. I've been going to Nate for the past 6 years and never once have anything less than the perfect cut for the stage my hair was at.

Go to ED Bailey's. Easily the best barbershop experience I've ever had (Frank's was a little too "high end" for me). Fantastic cuts for a reasonable price ($19).

Anyone at Clean Cut Grooming Lounge will do a better job than any of the stylists at Franks.

Lou Hunter - https://salon865.glossgenius.com/ One of the best in Knoxville, easily. She has her own private studio in Sola Salons in Bearden. I've personally never had a better haircut, and she was at Lox when I first met her. That being said, pretty everyone can do a fade so if you want someone cheaper there may be better options (Men's is $32). I have longer hair and a weird swirl so it looks better when I go to someone who knows what they're doing for my style and hair. Also, my old haircut guy owns a hair product business now and the stuff is good and reasonably priced. Anchor's Hair - http://loveanchors.com/ I'm not wild about the names and marketing (just on a personal level), but the stuff is the best I've found for the price.

Go to Western Plaza Barber Shop. I’ve been going for years and not one of their barbers have gave me a bad haircut. It’s $16 for a haircut and straight razor clean up on the back of your neck (this is the reason I’ll never stray from a barber - you can’t beat that smooth feeling on the back of your neck you get from a straight razor) Rusty (Son) and Junior (Father) own the place and they always are fun to talk to as well. They have a lot of Sequoyah Hills regulars that come in and chit chat.
