When I was in Osaka, I used to go 大阪市中央卸売市場本場(Osaka Municipal Wholesale Market Honjo-http://www.honjo-osaka.or.jp/) for sushi. Small osushiyasan on the right hand side near the main entrance open until 11 or noon, I think. Maybe other alumni can help you for more specific information.

Woops! ゴメン、間違えた!! Go to Katsuragi(かつらぎ) instead. I got mixed up for some reason. Your friend will never go wrong if he likes Yakitori, I mean real Yakitori. He must make a reservation and the phone number is 06-6213-7565. http://r.tabelog.com/osaka/A2702/A270201/27000592/dtlphotolst/5/

I'm not Indian but more than a couple of my Indian friends have taken me here and it's delicious. Raj Mahal in Shibuya. In a sketchy building but worth the visit!

I don't even remember where Bindi was, so it must not have made much of an impression. My Indian colleague favored The Taj in Akasaka Mitsuke but I didn't think price/performance was good. Since I'm a fake Indian, butter chicken from Moti's (either Roppongi or Akasaka) always does the trick.

Dhaba India is my favorite. The other is Swagat in Roppongi. Indian friends say it is better than their mother's cooking at home.

It is on the northern side of the Motomachi station tracks, about two or three streets towards San nomiya Station. For the time being, we are not doing lunch hours, but when the weather gets warmer, we will change our hours to fit the lunch crowds schedule. In the meantime, come on down from 5PM, relax and have a few pints!

Kanae Brueggemann made a rec for sushi. I can't remember details. We went to Awaji Island and spent the night at the Westin with the kids. Had a great time touring the island and going on a boat out to the whirlpools. I can't remember what else we did...it was back when we only had Sean. My absolute favorite is New Awaji Hotel (also recommended by Kanae). I am still looking for a train card for you. I managed to lose a few. I need to check purses.
