My wife and I will be going to Kodiak in 2018 for a reunion. Where is a good place to stay for a for days?

Luckily, you don't need to put a lot of thought into this. You have two choices: The Kodiak Inn is the classiest -my rating would be 6.50 featuring elevator, nice view of the harbor if you get a room overlooking that -otherwise a room on the other side offering an in-your-face view of the mountain undergrowth. Food, pretty good -bar civilized, traveling business class clientele.. Next choice is the Shelikof, I rate at about 4, no elevator. but with a "true Alaska" flavor, much beloved by friendly locals, gigantic menu and big Alaskan-sized portions of pretty good food. Sports-type bar with pool table. McD a block away if you're on a tight budget. Both hotels are 'downtown'.

Look up the "Channel View Bed and Breakfast". They have won the Trip Advisor "Certificate of Excellence" award the last four years. Long time local family that grew up in Kodiak. Check out there website. <www.kodiakchannellview.com>.
