Hi! could you please post..
Ive just noticed my 12 month old has an UPPER LIP TIE and has quite a big gap between her top two teeth. Has anyone had a bub of similar age...

Have been told by paediatric dentist it just has to be done before bih teeth come in. We go in in November. Call Dr Wong in deakin. He is awesome

For those who say there is no one in Canberra who will snip an upper lip tie that is not true. Dr Malecky in Deakin will do it - he did my son at 8 weeks of age, and he was fantastic squeezing us in for surgery the very next day in an attempt to solve some major feeding problems. He will also do older children as my nephew will be having the same surgery at age 3 or so. A referral is all you need to have a consultation with him, and I would recommend it as an upper lip tie can cause some major issues with teeth development, oral hygiene and speech depending I the severity, not to mention a complete inability to feed in some newborns. I am astounded how often this question comes up on this forum, which shows how common the problem is - yet it is not screened for at birth at all!!! Good luck!

Symmetry Dental in Kingston will 'cut' them with a dental laser. No luck with my 10 mo daughter as it was too fibrous, but might be worth a call/ visit.
