Apply for Tax File number on line and give to the bank when open an account, If no TFN provided, they will withhold top margin rate 45% of the interest earned, If you not yet moved here, ie live less than 6 mth of the financial year here, by tax status your are not "Resident" here, so you overseas income is not considered in the Aussie tax. You only pay 10% tax on the /interest earned here.
Albert T. replied:
Ayeli, not true. Medicare card is not mandatory and is worth the same as a foreign drivers license. So for a foreigner with passport, credit card and overseas car driving license will be more than 100 pts. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/100_point_check
Ayeli M. replied:
Recent arrival less than 6 weeks current passport is 100 points (second last of the list). Otherwisr passport 70 pt+ Drivers licence/medicare card 25 pts, still only 95 pts, that is why i heard someone said they also have to bring utility bill/lease doc etc. The 100 pts rule is national but this link is good to showthe primary and secodary group that u need to pick from. http://www.dhs.vic.gov.au/.../Proof-of-Identity-document.pdf

Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend a reliable inexpensive car rental place (will need a car for couple of months and planning to take it across the border to SG).
Please and...

Admin@carrental-jb.com - Wahdah Travel and Tours . Website www.carrental-jb.com. Very good and attentive service . They brought the car to us in the first place and they collect from my husband's place of work for servicing. We are able to take it to Singapore - though you may need to make this clear at the time of renting. Both of us are insured to drive.

anyone have a car rental discount? I need a car for a week starting Sunday.
Chris S. replied:
My brother Kevy Wevy Smitty rents out his smart car. relayrides.com is a great place to find a rental. I think Kenny Young rents his mustang there too.
Chase B. replied:
Bid out on priceline.com and you can get them as low as 15$ per day. Remember if you use a visa that you have protection there so no need to buy useless insurance from the place.
Raymond E. replied:
Southwest.com has the codes for 25 to 30% off all the major companies. With budget the BCD discount code always matched the corporate discount I had.
