I recommend you to stay Padma Resort Bali at Legian. The garden is so beautiful, breakfast is very nice, and staff is so friendly & kind. Of course, they have big pool, (also there are lagoon view room), and gym. Many my friend(woman) stay alone,but all of them could enjoy to stay there!

The Pullman Nirwana Legian. Get a deluxe ocean view room. About $150. If you want cheaper. One street bak from beach All Seasons Legian about $50 night. Superior room with balcony n pool view

Try The Eden Hotel its quite new and rooms are lovely "light and bright" $70/night - you can even get a Suite room $100/night. It's terrific value if you are travelling on your own. Discovery Shopping Centre is close and eat at The Grill at The Vira just down the road. I've stayed there many times here is the link:

Rama Garden is a small complex on Padma st. Went to Bali on my own in May and found it perfect coz so close to everything. There is no gym but there is a gym in Legian near Puri Raja so not far. Been to Bali heaps but this was first time on my own and felt totally safe .... Everything so close by

The Rani Hotel & Spa, quiet hotel request a ground floor room by the pool. I stayed on my own with my 3 mth old. & felt very safe. Very central & well priced.
