Fezzo's. It's just outside of Lafayette in Scott. That's my fave. Randol's and Prejeans are really good too. Stay away from the chain restaurants. Blue Dog is also really good.

So Elizabeth's dad, a piano repair man, says the piano at CARPE DIEM is damaged beyond repair and we need a replacement. If anyone knows of a free piano in decent shape...

http://millefiorifavoriti.blogspot.com/2011/09/keys-to-city-denver.html They have these old 'junk' pianos all over downtown Denver that are painted as art pieces and available for people to just play on. Some pianos with that were cheaply made in the 60 s and 70 s are already starting to fall apart in peoples homes and aren't worth the money to fix in order to play them in any sort of professional or even home practice capacity. I say, if it's going to end up in a landfill, at least put it at Carpe Diem for a while.

To respond to some negative comments on this post saying how cruel it is to have a piano outside in the weather, and how horrible it is to treat a musical instrument that way… Well, this is what I have to say about that. Of course we realize what heat/humidity and just plain weather can do to a piano. Of course a piano's life will be much longer and better inside an air-conditioned building. The Carpe Diem piano was a piano that was just sitting in someone's garage. Not being used. Not being played. A piano that was protected by the weather, but dead inside. When it was gracefully donated to us, we decided to put it on the patio, so it would be a street piano. Played by customers, bystanders, or even just anyone walking by. In the few months it was outside on the porch, this little piano came back to life! It was played by professionals, by children, by employees, by friends, tourists, by anyone who wanted to put their fingers on it. And it gave our community joy. Yes it wasn't quite tuned, yes it wasn't perfect - but it came to life and the music that came out of there made everyone smile. So yes, it may not last as many years as an indoor piano - but it surely touched more people's hearts than a forgotten piano collecting dust somewhere. It was loved by everyone. We got one good year out of it, and let me tell you, the adventures this piano had were quite amazing! Now it’s time to get another one. We are not looking for a perfect musical instrument that we can destroy. Actually, it’s the opposite: we are looking for an old junky piano that nobody wants, that is sitting somewhere and put aside, we want to bring it back to life and we want it to live out its golden years in glory. And this is what our old Carpe piano would say if it could speak: “It is not the years in your life but the life in your years that counts.”
