Cedar Creek is a good private campground. They cater to paddlers so it fills up on the weekends. They are just outside Cave Spring so depending on your location they might be a bit further out. Worth the effort though.

River Country campground on the Coosa River in Gadsden, AL. 2 hours from us. You and the boy child can fish while the girls lounge around the pool.
