I recently bought a home in Lansing and went with Hack's in downtown Lansing. They have been around for ages. I was not really impressed with the customer service by phone since the locksmith was late for my scheduled appointment (he didn't call to warn me that he was running late). I ended up calling the shop twice, first time when he was 20 minutes late and the again later when it was close to an hour over. Both times I called a woman answered the phone and handed it over to someone else. That someone else told me he was going to page the locksmith and have them call me. Never happened. I was actually on the phone ready to call an alternate locksmith after 80 minutes over my original time when the locksmith showed up. The locksmith apologized and did the work I requested. Upon talking to him he said that the woman that answered the phone could only have been the owner. THE OWNER!! Both times when she answered and I gave her my spiel about the locksmith being late she just gave it to the guy in the office. Apparently the owner doesn't give a hang about her customers. I will not be using them again. I know this is not a recommendation as you've requested but just thought I'd share my unhappy experience. Good luck in finding a good one.
