Hello, where is your favorite place to stay in Fredericksburg?

Fredericksburg Herb Farm
Jim K. replied:
River Road Ranch Resort. Very unique and far enough out of town to be quiet, but only about 5 minutes from Main Street. We've stayed in the Silo, it's the actual old Fredricksberg peanut silo saved from scrapping. It'll sleep 4 with 2 kids sharing the downstairs bed. http://www.riverroadranchresort.com/

Just went a couple weekends ago! Legacy Inn was WONDERFUL. And perfect for a big group (we had 14). Really not terribly priced either. Hope this helps!!

We like Rose Hill manor, outside of Fredericksburg...in Stonewall. Close to Luchenbach TX, a favorite spot. Also winery Perdenalas Cellars is a short walk away. Onsite restaurant quite good also. http://www.rose-hill.com

Beyond where u stay, check out Enchanted Rock for morning hike, Luchenbach, Hondos and Hilltop Cafe (outside of town).
My husband and I are in the early stages of planning brief trips to both our home towns, Elizabeth PA and Ashtabula to show each other where we grew up We're shopping...

Check out Rustic River Retreat in Austinburg. They have 3 different individual homes for rent on the property.

I've stayed in several of the hotels near Ashtabula and most are substandard. At Rt 45 and 90 junction there are a couple of relatively new hotels that are ok- Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express. The Lodge at Geneva on the Lake looks nice. I may try it next time I travel there.
