We went through a website called care.com. They have profiles of people looking for jobs with back ground checks and references. You can also post your own job and see who responds to it. From there we interviewed several people talked to their references and actually ended up finding someone that our neighbor knew. We have had her for over 2 years now and love her. It's always scary trying to find someone you trust to watch your kids. I told another acrobat friend about the website and they found someone they loved too. It's certainly worth a shot anyway. You can interview people somewhere neutral, so they won't know where you live until you've found someone you like. I will say I interviewed some strange people.
