Try Diatamaceous Earth, you can get it at any home improvement store, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc...it's non toxic so you can use it around children or pets, however when you spread it you do need to wear a mask because it is a very fine powder and is "fluffy" and easily becomes airborne.
