Ray Shaw knows more about damp and old buildings than anyone in Lewes. Don't trust companies who will try to sell you their damp proofing solutions, which are often incompatible with historic buildings; they miss an important detail and you're left with a worse problem than you started with. It depends a bit on your timescale. I can wholeheartedly recommend Zibby for general building/renovation work but I know he's busy (because I can hear him working on my neighbour's house right now!). He's worked on at least five of the houses in our street in one way or another. Bensleys did my damp-proofing and were fine! I would certainly use them again. Kitchens? Alistair Fleming is the local high end kitchen designer, but it is going to depend on your budget. Floors: it depends what you want to do really. I can recommend Andy Hunt for kitchens. Alaistair, Fleming told me they were booked nearly a year in advance and kitchens start around 30 k. Ouch.
