The problem is that most serious photographers are loyal to one specific brand. I don't buy anything other than Nikon, others will say Canon, Olympus or Panasonic etc. You need to consider not only what your going to use it for during your visit, but how much do you wish to spend and are you going to use it in the future. There is of course the other issue of picture quality (depending on how big you want to enlarge any photos you might wish to print), which can be from as little as 5 mega pixels to 36 mega pixels. One option might be a used DSLR or Bridge Camera. Cash Converters in Falkirk often have them and they are guaranteed for 6 months. I recently bought a zoom lens from them for less than half the price of a new one for my sister in law, it was like new and she's thrilled to bits with it. If you wanted a NIKON there's a website on Facebook Nikon Gear For Sale. PM me if you want to discuss further, either on the phone or face to face. The only real way is to try some of the option out.
