I really don't know what you want here - you haven't broken a law,neither has the taxi firm. They might tell their driver to be more careful in the future,but unless there's evidence that he was at fault,there isn't much else they can do

End of the day if it is your child or not the DRIVER of ANY vehicle is responsible for ALL passengers and it is NOT law to have a car seat in a taxi, as someone has said previously children under 3 are allowed to sit on your knee and children over sit in their own seat. HOWEVER The mother of the child should have had initiative to put a seat belt over herself and the young child if the child had to sit on her knee. If your daughter is fine then I do not see what the taxi company can do for you...

In taxis children do not need car seats "Exception If a child car seat is not available in a licensed taxi or licensed private hire car, the child may travel unrestrained in the rear. This is the only exception for children under 3 years. It was introduced for practical rather than safety reasons. You should always think about ways to make sure that a child seat is available.
