I think there are actually a few plumbing places with a Richard in charge. Richard Holt is one. Might have been him. Richard Parker installed a water heater wrong in our old house, refused to fix it until bbb got involved and we still had to pay a weekend rate when it was installed and were without hot water for over a month. The older man who i believe is Richard Parker sr. Did nothing but deny wrong doing (2 other companies and water heater manufacturer verified it was a stupid and dangerous mistake when they installed it) and yell at me. He even refused to fix it if i talked to him because he didn't want to hear that he was wrong. Ugh. Obviously a bad experience.

I always had good luck with Albert Goettle in years past. Since we bought this house we have a service contract and the service company gets to pick. they usually pick losers that aren't from around here. My sister in law loves Bakers. We have had good luck with them in the past too. I have never dealt with a slab leak though...

Jack, Goettle is our plumber for everything. But we need surgury of special kind and they prefer not to get involved with those projects. They keep their crews busy with household kind of problems. I'll keep Bakers in mind.

We have used Richard Holt several times over the years, though never for anything as serious as a slab leak. They have always been fast, courteous, and done a great job for us. If they say they can do it, then I would trust them to do mine (praying I never have to though).

Paul, based on the good inspection results when I was in building inspection, I would say that you are safe with Pither, Baker Bros. Or Ledbetter plumbing & Richard Holt. All of them do that type of plumbing and they are reasonable and they have the staff to handle it. Make sure they get permits so the city inspectors will come out and inspect it before it is covered up. The permits are only about $50 and it is worth it to make sure it is done right. All of those guys are great.
