I have had a huge struggle with that but I recently went to The Sound Clinic and was very pleased. It's in the highlands area of Denver.

Dr. Matthew Holland (and his PA-Cs, especially Zach) at the Boulder Medical Center (303-440-3057) is (are) very knowledgeable about EDS generally; Dr. Holland has been my cardiologist for years. Although POTS is part of what is wrong with me, it's not an overwhelming, ongoing issue, so I haven't talked to him specifically about that in too much detail, yet he is an amazing doctor – knowledgeable, experienced, sympathetic, understanding, holistic, and a true healer – so I think it would be worth a consultation with him and/or Zach. While I'm talking about Boulder cardiologists, I have to completely *DISrecommend* Dr. Jamie Doucet. Before I was diagnosed with EDS (but after I'd known for years I had MVP, and it was causing me symptoms), I went to see him on the referral of my primary care physician (a polarizing character in Boulder himself). The only positive thing I can say about Dr. Doucet was that he spent a lot of time with me (like over 1/2 hour), and did an EKG (but ordered no other tests, not even an ECG). Basically, all we talked about was my family history. NOT my family medical history mind you, but my family psychological history. Instead of talking about my physical symptoms. Not only did he totally fail to suspect EDS, his official diagnosis was ... get ready for this ... that my symptoms were the result of a "NEGLECTFUL CHILDHOOD" (his exact words), due to my parents' alcoholism and divorce, and from being a latch key child and having abandonment issues. I am not making this up. He even claimed my sister's Interstitial Cystitis was caused by the same childhood psychological issues (note: he did not examine my sister; she was not present). (Also note: neither one of us consider ourselves overly traumatized by our childhoods, just typical Gen Xers.) His prescription? All my problems would be solved if I just exercised. What the absolute f%&k, right? I mean, I'd lived there for 15 years by then and was your basic earthy-crunchy Buddhist vegetarian, but that was just WAY too Boulder even for me. Needless to say, I did not go back. It was a non-EDS friend of mine that recommended me to Dr. Holland, and it was a total Yatzee. I feel so fortunate to have him as part of my caregiving team, so much so that I have retained him as my doctor even though I have temporarily moved 2000 miles away (anyone who has ever been to the awesome paradise that is Colorado will find it no surprise that I intend to move back ASAP). Oh, one more little word of warning. The phone staff people – the ones you talk to on the phone to make/change appointments, etc. – can be downright obnoxious. They do NOT work for Dr. Holland or the Cardiology Department at all; they work for BMC. Just plow through them. Everyone else is delightful.

VCA Veterinary Specialists of the Valley is great. One of my pups has a congenital heart disease, mild. They have a cardiologist there only on certain days, but they were never over the top or unethical.

She may have POTS Syndrome as well . It causes pooling of the blood in the arms and legs . My daughter has EDS type 3 and POTS . Many with EDS have POTS. Especially during the teenage years . Hormones make it worse .

There is a geneticist in Houston name dr dhar at Baylor College of Medicine Adult Genetics clinic. You can see her at 17. She is interested in eds and other connective tissue diseases. She saw my daughter and they have adult drs in Houston to refer. We are looking for doctors in Dallas too since my daughter is going to college there. I know there is a neurologist that deals with dysautonomia at southwestern medical school. I not sure his name. 16 is so close to adult level and I think it will open more doors to better care. It's been a long road and still is.
