Isabella Pearce was married to Alexander Learmond, looks as though they had a large family. She had a brother James (Jimmy), and their parents were Frederick William Pearce and Margaret Johnston. Isabella and James were born in Innerleithen,Peebles. Peebles is lovely.

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, things must be fit for purpose and of good quality. A brand new car should not be needing substantial repairs, and I am certain that the dealer should be responsible for repairing the car at no cost to you. The Consumers' Institute has some information on it, but they limit help to their paying subscribers. I hope you can read this article anyhow: https://www.consumer.org.nz/articles/consumer-guarantees-act

You live in Aro? Look no further that Mid City Auto Repair.
Moved here 5 years ago, gave it a chance because it was close. Ended up getting everyone in my flat to go there for warrants it's so good.
Small business, Clive is the owner, rest of the crew are great. They are down to earth, no nonsense and will show you what needs to be done in an easy way. Great price and will never screw in the slightest. Years later they still remember me when I ring up to book in. Once I gave one of their workers a ride home, it's like family yo. My car has passed its warrant the last 3 years in a row...they never charge anything extra to make money from it. And dang, it's 2 minutes from Aro Valley! Walk home once you drop it off.

Auto Brake and Clutch in Martin Square, off Taranaki St seem pretty good - they apparently do more than just brake stuff. I've only been once, but they didn't suck. They also were pretty unimpressed with the brake work Honda Wellington had done.
contadamoose replied:
I know you're asking for recommendations, not complaints, but *do not* go to the AA mechanics on Taranaki. Bunch of fucking idiots who don't know what they're doing.
CapitalD replied:
Sarich Motors at the top of Taranaki. They always call before fixing anything so you can confirm the price and can source quality secondhand parts. In the past they've let me know that something almost needs replacing but it's still okay at the moment, so I know that I should budget for it next time (which is so much better than the place I used to go to that would replace anything just to make a buck). Also, they often offer to give me a lift to work when I drop the car off - super nice guys too. Highly recommend.
I'm looking for a car. Nothing fancy, just one that doesn't always break down. What is the best place to look? And any good mechanics to check the car out before I buy?

Karori Auto has been fantastic. My husband is the son of a mechanic so he's very picky about who looks after our car, and he can't rate Craig more highly. Never charge for anything not discussed with you, don't overcharge, and have been happy to work in with kid pick ups and drop offs.

Don't recommend Karori auto, booked car in before a trip away and when we collected car at end of day they hadn't started the job yet and no call to advise this was the case. Had to then go out of our way the next day to drop it back to them again. Poor customer service. If they hadn't already ordered parts for the job we would have gone elsewhere.
