I second Symes de Silva they are nice as and if you go to certain gyms you get a discount, plus sometimes they help with a payment plan depending on your situation, stay right away from Lumino and Gentle Dental (friends have been there and they left broke af).

Not sure about which dentist to recommend but re pricing if you need a tooth extracted these guys pay you $250 to participate in their trial (you still need to go to a dentist and pay them to extract the tooth but that should more than cover the cost? I highly recommend Capital Dental on The Terrace! I have the biggest fear of Dentists too but was put at ease there and felt so comfortable. Also super cheap, just mention you're a student.

Are you a student? If so, L R Jackson Dental Surgery on Lambton Quay does a student discount. Quoted me $600 for all four teeth, including xrays. Also does discounts on fillings, etc. Ph: 04 4991769. Dr Jackson is also very friendly and does a good job, which was a definite bonus for me cos I've had some pretty traumatising dental experiences in the past.

Capital dentist in Newtown do 20% discount and they're awesome! Price will depend on size of filling but I went there after getting a check up at Wellington dentist and wasn't happy with their price or what work they said I needed so went to Newtown capital dentist and she didn't even charge me for any extra X-rays she took! She Was so nice as well!!! And really fast with the work. Didn't feel a thing!!!
