Jen Hannah. Although I'm not sure of any courses off hand, but you may want to check with the Monashee Arts Council here in Lumby or the Arts Centre in Vernon (behind the Science Centre). The College may also have some courses. I am a professional Graphic Designer (and also own the Lumby Valley Times). The most common applications used in the Graphic Design industry are the Adobe suite of programs, but they can be expensive. An inexpensive alternative would be the Affinity Graphics Programs (https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/). There are quite a few tutorials online if you do a google search. Even the tutorials for the adobe suite of programs would be helpful. A common mistake is not being aware of what media type you are designing for. If you are designing it for the web or for print. One does not always work for the other (resolution, size, etc). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
