Sorry to hear. Knockout Pest Control (Uniondale). In the meantime - run to the local drug store and get boric acid (powder - behind the pharmacy counter). As long as you don't have any small pets roaming around in the area where you have the carpenter ants - vacuum the area first and then sprinkle a very thick layer around where the ants were roaming. The boric acid is not toxic to you -but it is to them and they will carry back to their nest killing others as well. It tracks on their feet and bodies.
