Look into what it would cost to joing Nikon's Professional Services group. I shoot Canon and for $100 a year they do expedited and discounted repairs, provide loaner gear, let you try out new bodies and lenses whenever you want, etc. Well worth it. I haven't tried Sanford in Arlington but I've heard that other camera places often send their stuff to them http://www.sanfordcamerarepair.com
