Mayfield Lake, On Hwy 12 in Washington. About an hour and 45 minutes from here at Ike Kinswa State Park. Nice Lake, great trout fishing and super nice campground. Detroit Lake is nice also, a little further away and not as private.

Ever wanted to stay in a tree house in a huge tree? This place was a blast. The tree houses all had electricity, plumbing, showers. Not sure about swimming around, but you could go on trail rides and zip lines. And everyone who works there is super nice and laid back (but kinda hippy). I can't wait to go back http://treehousetreesort.buuteeq-mobile.com

This is a lengthy drive, but our favorite lake is Mardon Lake aka Potholes Reservoir. REALLY warm. Great spots. Warm water nearby is hard to find lol. Fort Stevens in Astoria is really nice as well, a lot closer.

Lake Mayfield is sooo beautiful. Several campgrounds, fishing, swimming, skiing and great playgrounds. It is my favorite "close" spot. We love it. The water is a little cold but not too bad.

Washougal Timber Trails Association in Washougal, WA is a members only camp ground on the Washougal river, as is Lake Merwin's Campers Hidaway. You can buy a membership and have exclusive access to your own personal site. Both are very different. Merwi n has a lake, boating and I think boat rentals or member docks and WTTA has a lot less amenities but also a lot less expensive. At Merwin I think you have to be out of the park for 7 days every month but at the WTTA you can stay 11 consecutive months. A lot of snow birds live there all summer and the dues are around $600 A YEAR! Great place to retire on a budget!
